The Gord Downie

1.5 oz Rye

1 oz Simple Syrup

1/2 oz County Maple Vinegar

1 tsp Brown Sugar

A few splashes of Ginger Ale

Austrian Holiday Cookies

Ingredients

3/4 cup butter, softened

1 cup white sugar

1 egg

1 teaspoon lemon zest

2 cups all-purpose flour

3/4 cup blanched slivered almonds, ground

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/8 teaspoon ground cloves

1 cup of your favourite County Fare jam

Directions

Preheat oven to 350F . Grease cookie sheet, or use parchment paper on cookie sheet.

In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. Beat in the egg and lemon peel. In a separate bowl, stir together the flour, almonds, cinnamon and cloves. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture. If the dough is stiff, knead it by hand to get it to come together. Split the dough in half.

Roll out half of the dough on a lightly floured surface, and cut with chosen cookie cutter. Spread the jam over each individual cookie.

On a lightly floured surface, roll the remaining dough and cut with same cookie cutter. Then cut out middle of each piece with a much smaller cookie cutter. Lightly place each cookie over the jam on the previously cut cookies.

Bake 40 minutes or until top is golden. Cool in pan on wire rack.

A splash of Club Soda
Garnish with Fresh Mint and Lime

Hail of a Caesar

Over Ice ~

1.5 oz Vodka (Optional - it’s just as tasty without it!)
1/2 oz Hot Pepper Garlic Vinegar
A splash of Worcester Sauce
A splash of your choice of lime juice or lemon juice
Fill remainder of glass with Clamato juice
Garnish with cracked pepper, and a slice of lime or lemon

Beef Broth Drink


In an 8 fl. oz mug add: 

  • 6 oz of warmed organic low sodium beef broth 

  • 1 oz of Roasted Shallot & Sundried Tomato vinegar 

  • Squeeze of ½ of a fresh lemon 

  • Couple of dashes of Worcestershire sauce (or to you liking) 

  • Couple of dashes of Tabasco (or to your liking) 

  • Fresh ground pepper to your liking 

  • Garnish with a lemon wedge and celery stick 

Chicken Broth Drink

In an 8 fl. oz mug add: 

  • 6 oz of warmed organic low sodium chicken broth 

  • 1 oz of Hot Pepper Garlic vinegar 

  • Squeeze of ½ of a fresh lemon 

  • A dashes of celery salt (or to your liking) 

  • Fresh ground pepper to your liking 

  • Garnish with a lemon wedge, celery and carrot sticks and parsley

     Recipe Notes: 

  • Both broth drinks can be converted into a soothing Hot Toddy by adding 1 ½ oz of alcohol. We found vodka and gin to be the most complementary for these particular flavoured broths but whatever you’d like to try, go for it! 

  • For extra healing power add a mixture of herbs to your drink, such as: rosemary, thyme, parsley, basil, sage, mint, etc. Muddle the herbs then pour the warmed broth over them. Stir and enjoy! 

    Have fun experimenting using other bone broths such as; turkey, lamb or fish with different herb combinations and our other gourmet flavoured vinegars. These drinks are guaranteed to warm you to the core on a cold winter’s day! 

    Health Notes:

    weight management, reduce cholesterol and antimicrobial properties. How great is that?!
